How It Works

The process is similar to voting on the TV program American Idol. Potential donors are prompted on radio, TV or billboards to send a simple text message or key word such as "AID" to a short code "55000" (which acts like the phone number). This is all it takes. The appeal and instructions may be communicated to prospective audiences by the electronic or print media, website, e-mail, billboards or print materials.

Can be contacted via text message for example - "Thank you for your past support of (name of nonprofit). Your continuing support of our mission is essential. Please consider making an additional $10 tax-deductable gift by replying "YES" with the text "AID" on your cell phone and press SEND".
